Large Leaf Sorrel, also called spinach dock and narrow-leaved dock, is a hardy perennial herb in the same family as buckwheat and rhubarb.
It produces dome of the earliest greens in the spring! Named after the French translation for “sour,” sorrel has an incredibly intense lemony tang.
They are excellent in salads and fish. The large leaves grow up to 8 inches tall and can be cooked like spinach or used in soups.
Sorrel leaves are also used in Vietnamese cuisine, where they are known as rau thom (fresh herb). Species: Sorrel, Large Leaf

Planting Instructions: Start indoors 3-4 weeks before last spring frost.
Sow seed thinly 1/4 inch deep and press soil down slightly; germination should occur in full sun or partial shade after last chance of frost.
For direct sowing, plant seeds 4-6 inches apart and thin seedlings 16 inches apart.
For a continuous harvest, sow a new crop every 2 weeks until the heat of the summer.
For best flavor, keep the soil rich and moist; mulch to keep soil cool and control any weeds. Remove developing seeds stalks to slow bolting; after bolting, cut off at ground level to allow a new crop.
