6 garden secrets : expert advice on watering and caring

 – The best time to water your garden is in the morning, it is important that the ground has time to dry out before sunset. This reduces the risk of mold and other fungi affecting the leaves, and also reduces the likelihood of being caught in the evening shift by mosquitoes or sand flies.

– Mold often affects roses, pumpkins, melons, zucchini and cucumbers. A 1:10 solution of cow’s milk and water will help you care for these plants. Spray once a week. Repeat this after heavy rain or watering. It is an effective prophylactic agent.

– Harvest in the morning when they contain the maximum amount of nutrients. You can preserve the flavor and nutrients of leafy green vegetables by chilling them in the refrigerator, but onions and tomatoes will lose some of their flavor this way.

– Use a barrel and add sheep, cow or rabbit manure to it, and then cover with water. Stir it every day for a week, then strain and water your plants.

– To get the best yield from each garden bed, pay attention to how you arrange your plants. Avoid planting in square patterns or rows. Instead, stagger the plants in triangles. This way you can place 10-14% more plants in each garden bed.

– Make sure you give the young plants plenty of water, but always avoid wetting the plant leaves! Wet leaves can easily lead to a variety of diseases.
